About us
Sydmetal Service is a family-run sheet metal business. Our director, Tien, started the company in Prestons in 2015 after more than two decades working in Sydney duct factories, and today the whole family works in the business alongside our factory team.
We now build from our factory in Chester Hill, supplying ductwork to everyone from small HVAC installers to larger air conditioning contractors working on commercial and residential apartment projects.
Tien still looks over the work himself. He is fussy about quality and efficiency, and that is how we run the factory: ductwork that fits on site and arrives when you need it.

Meet the man behind it all
Tien · Director · Since 1991
Tien started out in 1991, working in factories across Sydney, building ductwork and sheet metal for the HVAC industry. Spending more than two decades learning the trade from the ground up: how ducts are designed, cut, folded and fitted.
His fingers are proof of 30+ years of hard yakka: a little crooked, a lot tougher than ours, and still the first ones on the job every morning.
In 2015, he started Sydmetal Service in Prestons. Building something with purpose and to spend his days doing what he loves.
Anyone who’s worked with Tien knows he’s fussy about quality and obsessed with efficiency. Every duct that leaves our workshop has to meet his standard.
Today his son Tu runs the factory, ready to carry the business forward, and the whole family works side by side with Tien, continuing the legacy he built with his own two hands and proving that mettle runs in the family.
